Assessment in VCE
Year 12
There are two levels of assessment:
- Satisfactory Completion
- Subject teacher determines if you have satisfactorily completed a unit of study.
- Judgment is based on a set of assessment tasks given by the teacher.
- If you satisfactorily complete the unit, the teacher assigns you an 'S' grade, otherwise an 'N'.
- Level of Performance
- There are two types of assessments under this category.
- School Assessed - The teacher sets assessment tasks. The task is done under exam conditions.
- The second assessment is an Exam conducted by the VCAA. Teachers have no knowledge of the Exam questions. The exam is marked by external assessors.
- Each type of assessment is worth 50% of the total.
- The scores of these two assessment is used to calculate:
- Grade (A+ - E)
- Study Score
- ENTER SCORE
