Assessment in VCE

Year 12

There are two levels of assessment:

1. Satisfactory Completion
   1. Subject teacher determines if you have satisfactorily completed a unit of study.
   2. Judgment is based on a set of assessment tasks given by the teacher.
   3. If you satisfactorily complete the unit, the teacher assigns you an 'S' grade, otherwise an 'N'.
2. Level of Performance
   1. There are two types of assessments under this category.
      1. School Assessed - The teacher sets assessment tasks. The task is done under exam conditions.
      2. The second assessment is an Exam conducted by the VCAA. Teachers have no knowledge of the Exam questions. The exam is marked by external assessors.
      3. Each type of assessment is worth 50% of the total.
   2. The scores of these two assessment is used to calculate:
      1. Grade (A+ - E)
      2. Study Score
      3. ENTER SCORE
